Born and raised in Myrtle Beach, Diminich grew up immersed in the restaurant industry. After his grandfather immigrated from Italy to the United States at age 16, he set out on a pursuit of the American dream and eventually opened their family restaurant. Diminich first found his passion for cooking and hospitality when his father and grandfather had him help at the restaurant. After training with other local chefs, Diminich worked his way up the ranks and attended the Culinary Institute of America
After graduating with a degree in Culinary Arts, , Diminich trained under Chef and Owner Georges Perrier at Le Bec Fin in Philadelphia. He then headed back to the South, where he was Sous Chef at BLT Steak in the Ritz-Carlton Charlotte. He later worked under Executive Chef Raffaele Dall’Erta at The Hampton’s Restaurant in Sumter, SC, and most recently was Executive Chef of Upstream Restaurant in the SouthPark area of Charlotte.
While keeping his passion for cooking alive, Diminich also began his journey towards sobriety in 2014. A journey marked by determination and strength, Diminich discovered an even greater calling: serving those around him.
In 2020, Sam appeared on Beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network, taking down the legendary Chef in an epic ‘battle’ of Lobster Risotto. This was a pivotal moment in giving Diminich the needed push to break into Charlotte’s local culinary scene by growing Your Farms Your Table and shortly after, opening Restaurant Constance.
Chef Diminich is wildly passionate about working with local ingredients. His chef-driven dining approach to honors each guest with ingredients crafted using sound techniques with a blend of traditional and contemporary flavors and textures. His goal is to prepare food that brings a celebratory influence to the meal experience as the centerpiece in the story of our lives with our friends and family.

Sam has found sustaining purpose in sharing his experience with addition and recovery as a way of helping others with similar journeys. He is co-leader of the Charlotte chapter of Ben’s Friends, a support group offering hope, fellowship, and a path forward to food and beverage professionals who struggle with addiction and Alcoholism.
